Reflect and refocus every morning
Start out your day by exercising and having a hearty breakfast. Relax your mind before you tackle your tasks for the day. When you plan at the start of the day – as much as possible, stick to it.
Observe the 80 / 20 rule
20% of what you do each day produces 80% results. Make sure you sort through your tasks for the day and prioritize only what is important.
Avoid doing things all at once, as mentioned above, make sure to determine what the most important task is for the day and act upon it. It is better to finish just one task for the day than to have all left unfinished.
This is perhaps the number 1 productivity killer – laziness. Set attainable goals for each task so that you can finish it efficiently.
Finishing a task is easier if you have a plan and workflow in place. Email, one of the biggest productivity killers can take up much of your time for the day. Plan to read emails at certain times of the day to spread out the time spent on them, instead of having to waste all morning going through them.
