We’re not too far away from the future of self – driving cars, according to tech giant Google, during their recent tests of software for cars in Mountain View, California. The tests include logging at least thousands of miles on the streets relying on satellite and laser technology that detects hundreds of different objects in the road, even gestures from cyclists making a turn.
The Self – Driving car is just one of the many projects of Google’s X – Lab, the same group that created the tech eyewear Google Glass. The Self – Driving project was the company’s response to the alarming figures from the World Health Organization that over a million people are killed in road accidents annually.
